Thursday, February 16, 2012 (Pasta)

Ms. Wallace introduced her best friend in college, Ms. Juliap, an Italian cook, to teach students to make delicious Italian pasta. Ms. Juliap was a kindhearted, enthusiastic grandma who taught us students carefully. She answered every question in an unhurried pace, which built up our trust toward her immediately. She looked like typical grandmother who would caress her grandchildren and told interesting bedtime stories. She was polite, graceful and often reminded the details frequently. Since I knew that she would return to Italy soon, I didn't want to miss the chance so I kept asking questions. I was glad to acquaint with such a talented Italian woman. She attended Italian cooking and culinary school which impressed us with her skills. She was one of the science fair judges. I speculated that she came to Taiwan in order to judge our science fair and met with her best friend in college, Ms. Wallace. I appreciated that Ms. Wallace and Ms. Juliap could remain a steadfast, firm friendship. Pasta is extremely tasty and colorful which stimulated my appetite. I fell in love with Italian pasta and was joyful that I had a chance to learn the skills from an Italian teacher.
